Exhibition

Aakar Prakar

Students of the 135-year-old Sherwood College, Nainital, put up an exhibition of the art works of its students in Delhi, from December 10 to 19, 2004.  The exhibits at Mati Ghar were on sale.  The proceeds from the sale were to go to the funds being raised for scholarships to needy students of the college.  In all, there were creations of 125 students.

The exhibition titled ‘Aakar Prakar’ was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Shiela Dixit, who is an alumna of Sherwood.

Most of the exhibits were made by the students as part of their art work class.  This is the second such exhibition of the college outside Nainital.  Last year, they held a show in Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion Smt. Dixit said that giving children the freedom to imagine and equipping them to give shape to their creative ideas was as important as the curriculum and academics.  She appreciated the role  Sherwood College played in this respect.
