IGNCA will host an exhibition, Kurai Onrum Illai : MS Life in Music 1916-2004 . Hon'ble Vice President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the exhibition and release a commemorative coin on Dr. M. S. Subbulakshmi on Tuesday, 19 September 2017; 11.00 am at IGNCA Auditorium, C.V. Mess, Janpath. Hon'ble Minister of State for Culture (I/C), Dr. Mahesh Sharma will be the Guest of Honour.

IGNCA has been entrusted by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India to commemorate the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Dr M S Subbulakshmi from 16th September 2016 to 16th September 2017.

The inauguration of the year-long programmes was done at Bangalore, where Shri Ananth Kumar, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers flagged off the celebrations. The year long celebrations included seminars,lecture by Ms Gowri Ramnarayan (Dr. M. S. Subbulakshmi's grand niece) and concerts.

20th September 2017 Sunenge tabhi to seekhenge

IGNCA and Raaggiri Trust is hosting a workshop, Sunenge tabhi to seekhenge. This is a fifth workshop with Raaggiri Trust.

22nd September 2017 Film Screening: Land of Mother Goddess: Daksina Kannada

The film explores the rich tradition of mother goddess worship, transcending all communities and castes in south Karnataka.
Director: S.S. Rajesh

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.

The 11th concert in the classical music series Bhinn Shadaj Series, is being held in collaboration with SPICMACAY.

Pandit Sharad Sathe from Pune will be the artist of the month. He will be accompanied on harmonium by Shri Pramod Marathe and on tabla by Shri Shruteendra Katagade.

Bhinn Shadaj is a monthly classical music series initiated by IGNCA, under which artists are requested to present rare ragas and compositions. The inaugural concert was presented by Prof Ritwik Sanyal on 19 November, 2016..

28th September 2017 IGNCA Book Circle @ Reference Library.

Under the Outreach initiative the IGNCA Book Circle has a monthly event held on the fourth Thursday of every month from 4:00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
