About Seminar

Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) – a premier Academic and Research Institute in the field of Art and Culture is organizing a two days Seminar on “Digital Preservation and Access to Indian Cultural Heritage with special reference to IGNCA Cultural Knowledge Resources” during 31st January and 1st February, 2009 (Saturday and Sunday).

Objectives of the Seminar are as given below:-

  • On the basis of discussions preparation of a comprehensive plan for Development of Digital Archive.
  • To draft a proposal for National Electronic Manuscripts Library .
  • To draft a proposal for Digital Preservation Policy.
  • To explore the possibilities of creation of Electronic Information Gateway.
  • To discuss Open Access vis-a-vis restricted access.

Who Should Participate
Participation to the Seminar is open to all Library & Information Professionals in India, however, preference will be given to the Libraries who are engaged in Digitization and Digital Library initiatives and Libraries dealing with Art and Humanity as a subject.
