Applied Natya Therapy Workshop

The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Nari Samvad Prakalp in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Academy is organizing a four days workshop based on one of its ongoing in house projects, titled ‘Applied Natya Therapy: Integrating Science & Arts for mental health through Bharatamuni’s Natya Shastra’ at Meghdoot Theatre, Sangeet Natak Academy. The resource person of the workshop will be Dr. Dimple Kaur, consulting Psychologist, Bharatnatyam exponent, and project investigator of ‘Applied Natya Therapy’.

The workshop was an integrated programme by NariSamvaadPrakalp, IGNCA, New Delhi, IGNCA – Regional Centre, Vadodara and the Department of Dramatics, Faculty of Performing Arts, MSU, Baroda. It is an interdisciplinary project in which the participants learn the confluence of Neuro Science and Psychotherapy that can help create an evidence based approach to healing. International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, following events are proposed to be held under the aegis of the newly revived Narivada Prakalpa of the IGNCA:

1. Panel Discussion on Women’s World: Choices, Challenges and future Possibilities. During the day time, a panel discussion on the aforementioned theme will be organized in two sessions.

2. Performances on Celebrating Women’s Creativity. Performances by such women artistes who have created their niche and space in the field of traditional art-forms . These art-forms are Baul from Bengal (Ms. Reena Das Baul and accompanists), Kirtan from Maharashtra (Ms.Krantigeeta Mahabala and group), and Hari-Katha from Andhra Pradesh (Ms. Uma Maheshwari and group).
