Virtual Exhibition on Glorious Bhimbetka: An Exhibition based on IGNCA’s Dr. Yashodhar Mathpal Collection Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts Adi Drishya Department Presents the online Virtual Exhibition on Glorious Bhimbetka: An Exhibition based on IGNCA’s Dr. Yashodhar Mathpal Collection The present exhibition the “Glorious Bhimbetka: An Exhibition based on IGNCA’s Dr. Yashodhar Mathpal Collection” is mainly based on the water colour reproductions of the rock paintings of Bhimbetka made by Dr. Yashodhar Mathpal and acquired by IGNCA for its archival and research purpose. Bhimbetka rock shelters are a UNESCO World Heritage rock art site in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh. This exhibition gives an insight into exploring artistic manifestations emanating from man’s primary sense perceptions. It not only gives a detailed analysis of rock art and related data from Bhimbetka, but also provides an insight into its archaeological and ethnographical context. |
