The Cultural Informatics Laboratory (CIL), a Multimedia Research Centre was established in IGNCA with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) multimedia documentation project titled "Strengthening National Facility for Interactive Multimedia Documentation of Cultural Resources". The project included the funding for purchase of state of the art infrastructure, hiring of national and internaional experts and salary of project officials employed for its execution. Laboratory was setup and multimedia projects initiated under the Supervision of Neena Ranjan, National Project Coordinator, UNDP Project.
