She works at IGRMS on a daily wage basis. She has been painting with acrylic on canvas for the past nine years and has already established herself as a Bhil contemporary artist.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ignca.gov.in\/images\/tribal_bhil_artists\/bhuri_bai_zher.jpg\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" border=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ignca.gov.in\/images\/Tribal_art_artists\/gangu_bai_Bhuri_zher.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" border=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The walls of the Museum of Mankind, are covered with Bhuri Bai\u2019s paintings. As a child, she would go to the haat or local fair, an integral part of Bhill life, where the colours inspired her to paint. She paints the laughter and fun of the\u00a0<em>Gad Bapsi<\/em>\u00a0festival, where young men try to scale an oiled pole to get the coconuts tied to its top.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ignca.gov.in\/images\/Tribal_art_artists\/bhuri_bai_Jaisingh.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"311\" border=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Bhuri Bai was very young when her mother Jhabbu Bai taught her to build a\u00a0<em>kothi<\/em>, (Granary) and Bhil hut. They shaped figures from a mixture of clay, cow dung and chaff and plastered them on the walls. This is known as\u00a0<em>bhittichitra<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>mittichitra<\/em>, Bhuri likes cows, so she always made a cow for her wall.
