His paintings of animals and humans are always framed by a border of leaves, symbolizing a forest or hills, representing the\u00a0<em>Inya Parvat<\/em>. He likes to depict animals as vehicles or\u00a0<em>vahanas<\/em>\u00a0of the goddesses. The Bhil pantheon has nine lakh goddesses, many of them named after the animals on which they ride.\u00a0<em>Macchimata<\/em>\u00a0for example, rides on\u00a0<em>macchi<\/em>, the fish;\u00a0<em>Kukeramata<\/em>\u00a0rides on the dog,\u00a0<em>kukra<\/em>;\u00a0<em>Hansmata<\/em>\u00a0on a swan or\u00a0<em>hans<\/em>. He has often painted naar, the tiger, who carries\u00a0<em>Parvati<\/em>on his back. The Bhils have given\u00a0<em>Parvati<\/em>\u00a0many names, one of them being\u00a0<em>Naarsinghi<\/em>.
