There is little doubt that Orissa played a major role in the creation, development and dissemination of Buddhist doctrines and concepts throughout India and the Buddhist world, particularly in respect to Vajray&#257;na Buddhism and the iconography of sculptural ma&#7751;&#7693;alas.
