Description:

A copy of one of nine existing Hahae Pyonsin-kut masks in South Korea; the originals date from the 11th-12th century. The sly smile and narrowed eyes of this satirical depiction reveals this Monk as a most unholy schemer and lecher. He abducts a flirtatious young woman during the course of the play. The movable jaw adds variety to his expressions.
