Description:

Pasung Grigis was Chief Minister to Dalem Bedaulu, the Balinese King defeated by Gajah Mada in 1343. One of his functions was to periodically cut off the King's head in order to demonstrate the monarch's magic powers of meditation. One day, the King's head fell into the river and the panicked minister replaced it with the first head available -- which happened to belong to a wild swine. The mask has a demonic aspect, and can also be used for Detya Mayadanawa, the demon king who poisoned the gods' water before succumbing to Indra.
