Bhairav Dev is god of village (Gramaya Dev) who protects the village. Any character while wearing Bhairav Mask enters in the beginning of Bhatra Nat in Marai fair. He takes around the stage and goes back. It is to create non-interventation during the Nat. There is no provision of any ritual. The standing moustache is the identity of Bhairav Dev. Horn and a band over head which symbolizes the security shield.
