Maria mask is worn on the occasion of Chertha dance. It is the principal mask relating to the community behaviour. After wearing this mask, the whole dance sequence becomes identical. To create this effect, the Muria Gond tribal people sometimes wear this mask. Chertha dance takes place along with Dunger song in the month of Pausa/Monsoon.
