The interpretation was conceived by the Late Kumar Bijoy Pratap Singh Deo, brother of the present Maharaja. Now Rajkumar Suddhendra in the role of Mayura, has added poignancy and sensuousness to the earlier conception. A choreographic fantasy, Mayur, depicts the of the peacock at the approach of rain when it flights into rapturous rhaphsody. The dance displays the pride beauty, in every till and turn of the head and vanity of this vain glorious bird in stylized poses, startled gazes and stardy, graceful movements.
