Mask of Goddess Kali broadly divided into two parts - face and crown. Facial part is characterised by prominent and extended eyes, prominent nose with wide nostrils. Forehead comparatively narrow and decorated with white dots and a prominent symbol in the centre. A nasal ring with an extended chain is fitted on the nasal septum. Elongated and protruded red tongue held firmly by the exposed teeth of the upper jaw. Lips are separated to leave space for the protruded tongue. 'S' shaped ear with metal ear ornament. Body colour : Upper part - dark black and lower part (below the tongue) is red. Crown is carved from the same piece of wood in four steps, the topmost being the largest. Other three steps are more or less same in dimension. Lowest one is beautifully carved and coloured alternately by red and blue.
