Description:

Mask of Hanuman may broadly be divided into two parts, - face and head. The head is covered by a head gear carved out from the same piece of wood used in executing the facial features. The head gear is comparatively broad, colourful coversthe head all along its margin but open at the top. Facial part assumes the human form with prominent eyes, circular opening in the centre of the eyes, prominent eyebrows, straight and sharp nose with prominent nasal septum, broad forehead and shapely cheek and chin. Prognathism of the face - the distinct ape character is executed by protrubernace of facial muscles immediately below the nose. This portion is demarcated with red colour scattered with black dots. There is no lip and oral opening depicted in the mask. Two large fan like 'S' shaped ears are there. Body colour : light violet.
