Description:

It is a mask of Goddess Kali broadly divided into two parts - facial part and head region carved out of a single piece of wood. Head region is completely concealed under the head gear. The head gear is a three tier carved wooden piece continuous with the facial part. The lower two tiers - circular decorated with multicoloured stripes at regular interval - are similar in all respect. The upper most tier is provided with five decorated triangular shaped structures pointed at the free end. Face is characterised by a narrow forehead with a decorated sign in the centre along the median line, red coloured eyebrows, prominent and expanded eyes with slit like horizontal opening along the lower margin, prominent nose, open mouth, exposed teeth, red coloured oral region, protruded and extended tongue. Dark black body colour. Facial region is decorated with yellowish dotted lines.
