A Two-Day International Seminar on “Guru Nanak: Harbinger of Humanity”, February 2020, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is remembered today in the context of his teachings in all aspects of society. Sri Guru Nanak has been professed as a saint, a scientist, a sociologist, a psychologist, an environmentalist, a lover of nature, a poet, a writer, a critic of good/bad omens and a great spiritual leader. Five centuries ago, Sri Guru Nanak laid the foundations of a new world view about the idea of God, Religion, Truth, Life and Human Dignity. With each passing day, the great glory of Sri Guru Nanak is expanding, transcending the boundaries of nation, geography, religion, language and culture. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the harbinger of the new era of Indian civilization. His life, teachings and writings are part of the collective legacy of human civilization. Sri Guru Nanak was a great spiritual leader whose concerns were not confined to the matters of religion. Sri Guru Nanak travelled extensively in India and abroad to engage in dialogues with people belonging to plurality of faiths. The search for truth is the most fundamental question in Sri Guru Nanak’s philosophy. Sri Guru Nanak declared that truth is the highest value but truthful living is still higher. This is the peerless contribution of the great Guru to mankind. In this way, Sri Guru Nanak bridged the gap between idea and practice of truth. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji believed in social equality, rising above social distinctions based on caste, creed, birth, gender or status. Breaking prevalent tradition, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji spoke for a respectable position for women in the society. Sri Guru Nanak’s best service to womankind is treating family life as part of social responsibility and opposing renunciation of household. On the occasion of 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the organizing committee invites research papers from the professional, academicians, practitioners, research scholars and students on the issues related to the theme and sub-themes.

Guidelines 

  1. Paper must be submitted in microsoft word via email at 550icgurunanak@gmail.com on or before the deadline.
  2. Write abstract of about 200 to 300 words.
  3. Paper must contain abstract, key words, introduction, objective, conclusion and suggestions (If Applicable)
  4. Papers should be typed using TIMES NEW ROMAN font and Arial Unicode MS
  5. The Paper may be in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
  6. All paper must follow the standard of the “Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association” (APA-7th edition).
  7. Author is required to take note of:
    (a) Originality of title
    (b) Relevancy, novelty and clarity of idea
    (c) Systematic presentation
    (d) Conclusion and suggestions
  8. At the end of paper the author must certify that paper is his/ her original work and has not been published wholly or partly or accepted for publication elsewhere.
  9. Participants must also bring duly filled copy of registration forms which is attached with the brochure (subject to the acceptance of their paper).
  10. No TA/DA will be provided.
  11. Registration Fee Rs. 1000/- for paper presenters only.
  12. After the notification of the acceptance of the abstract, the paper presenter shall be asked to make the registration fee online (Link shall be provided soon).
  13. Please be notified that while making the payment (Registration fee) online the system may not accept certain character.
  14. Last date for the submission of abstract is 30th April, 2020.
  15. Abstract acceptance notification date is 25th May, 2020.
  16. Last date for the final paper submission is 30th July, 2020.
