The Role of Women in Kathakali - A Male Dominated Art Form – A Socio Cultural Analysis IGNCA Regional Centre, Vadodara, in collaboration with the Dept. of Dramatics, Faculty of Performing Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, organised a lecture demonstration by Dr.HaripriyaNamboothiri.Dr.Namboothiri is one of the few women actors in Kathakali who play both the male and female roles. As Kathakali is lesser known in the Western part of the country, the lecture demonstration by the artist was primarily conducted to enlighten the younger generation of this magnificent art form.
