Decipherment of Indus Script: A New Approach

About the Author : Dr. Karuna Shankar Shukla’s passion for archaeology began in his student days, where he excelled and led advancements. A distinguished alumnus of Agra University and BHU, he further honed his expertise at the School of Archaeology, New Delhi. His dedication earned him lifelong memberships in prestigious societies and over 40 years of experience in education and research. He actively participated in excavations at Rajghat and Kalibangan, and his explorations in the upper Mid-Ganga valley unearthed significant artifacts. Dr. Shukla’s crowning achievement is his decipherment of the Indus-Sarasvatī script, a testament to his 38 years of research. Recognized by eminent scholars, this work is documented in his book “The Decipherment of Indus-Sarasvatī Script (2007)”.  His contributions have been further acknowledged through prestigious awards like the Sir Mortimer Wheeler Prize and the Maulana Azad Gold Medal. Present online book “Decipherment of Indus Script: A New Approach” being an anothor contribution in this field by him.
