Kalakalpa the bi-annual Journal of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, addresses itself to a holistic understanding of the arts, not as an activity dissociated from life but as a response to it. Its aim is to foster an active dialogue amongst the scholars of various disciplines. In its definition of art, the journal will have a broad-based approach covering areas like art history, sociology, philosophy, folklore, religion, aesthetics, ecology and environment. It will welcome original research with new ideas, pertinent to an area of specialisation.

  • The contributors should send Articles and Book Reviews neatly typed on A4 size paper, or in the form of a CD.
  • The editors have the right to accept or reject any article without assigning any reason.

  • Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts is not responsible for the views expressed by the authors in their articles.

  • One copy of the Journal and twenty offprints of the articles will be supplied to each author.

  • All articles should be sent to the Managing Editor, Kalakalpa, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Janpath, New Delhi – 110 001. The envelope should be superscribed ‘Kalakalpa’.

    Letters for supply of copies of the Journal should be addressed to the Member Secretary.

  • Remittance of subscription should be made by Bank Draft or cheques drawn in favour of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA). For outstation cheques, collection charges of Rs. 50/- shall be added to the subscription amount.
