Bhasha Parv – Multilingual Kavi Sammelan on Languages and Dialects of J&K

Collaborators: Translation Club ‘Utsaah’ of the University of Jammu
The program celebrated IGNCA’s 38th Foundation Day with Bhasha Parv, a multilingual Kavi Sammelan highlighting Jammu and Kashmir’s linguistic diversity. Renowned poets from various languages and dialects presented poetry on the occasion. Students from the University of Jammu also recited poetry in Gojri, Dogri, Pahadi, Urdu, and Bhaderwahi, showcasing youth involvement in language preservation. The program emphasized promoting lesser-known languages, creating digital archives, and strengthening cultural initiatives through community collaboration.

The event honoured the strength, resilience, and achievements of women across diverse fields. The
program featured discussions and storytelling sessions involving distinguished speakers, scholars,
and students. Speakers emphasized holistic women’s empowerment, highlighting resilience, family

support, overcoming social barriers, addressing gender bias, and the role of education, values, and
self-confidence in shaping independent and empowered lives.
Women security guards, auto drivers, and shopkeepers were felicitated for their contribution to the
society.
