The Bharat Pragyan Mahotsav aims to explore the rich heritage, timeless wisdom, and the contributions of Sanatana Dharma to the betterment of humanity across various spheres of life. During the event, IGNCA has arranged a diverse range of activities, discussions, and cultural showcases that will offer a comprehensive understanding of Sanatana Dharma’s philosophy, principles, and practices. Distinguished scholars, spiritual leaders, and historians will grace the occasion and deliver thought-provoking talks, shedding light on the impact of this ancient tradition on human thought, societal values, and spiritual enlightenment.

Celebration of World Folklore Day: Essence of Oral Traditions as a Carrier of Culture

Jharkhand is a state in eastern India known for its pristine nature and boasts a rich cultural heritage that includes a diverse array of tribal and regional dance, folk songs, paintings, games, mythology, customs, rituals, handicrafts and fairs and festivals.

This lecture was organised to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences and dissemination of the rich oral tradition of Jharkhand to young researchers and students. It also enhances the knowledge and encourages the young generations to undertake research on the rich cultural heritage of the state.

It was followed by the screening of documentary films on the origin of mankind and the creation of the universe according to the belief system of the Munda tribe and the Sohrai festival of the Santhal tribe.
