Colour Temperature of Other Time Mysore Paintings
Director: R Bharathadri
Duration: 56 min, 23 sec Research Script: Gautam Chatterjee
Mysore paintings are known for their harmony, visualization of mythology and the splendour of colour. The paintings portray different scenes of life. They show the depth of imagination and attention in detail. These paintings are in light colour, mostly primary colours, with a unique hemming of gold. Painting is a family tradition in Mysore, and some people live by painting only. In Bangalore, some institutions specifically promote this type of painting. A group of paintings called Jami are based on stories. The common subjects are folklore, historical events, and the local myths.
