Bhinn Shadaj is a monthly classical music series initiated by IGNCA, under which artists are requested to present rare ragas and compositions. The inaugural concert was presented by Prof Ritwik Sanyal on 19 November, 2016.

IGNCA and SPICMACAY pay homage to legendary Kishori Amonkar. A musical tribute will be presented by Vidhusi Girja Devi. Mithilesh K. Jha, Murad Ali and Vinay Mishra will be her accompanists.

Shri Raghunandan Panshikar , Ms. Nandini Bedekar will also pay their homage to the artist. The event will be graced by H.E. Dr. Najma Heptulla, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi.

Jagadguru Sri Ramnareshacarya is the head of Sri Mutt of Ramananda Sampradaya, Varanasi and is a great thinker, philosopher and orator. Sri Ram Bahadur Rai, President of IGNCA Trust will Chair the lecture.

The lecture is being organized under the Bharat Vidya Prayojana of IGNCA.

Screening of the IGNCA film Leela in Kheriya

Duration-53 minutes
Directed by Dr. Molly Kaushal

The film tells the stories of a few individual lives in Kheriya, deeply enmeshed with the Ramlila performed every year in the village. Kheriya is located near the township of Firozabad, known for its glass making factories. In the film, the furnaces of these factories serve as metaphors for rhythms of life, its grit and grime, as also its sublime essence. Lives of both Hindus and Muslims of Kheriya converge on the Ramlila stage, making it a moment of self liberation and self realisation for each.

Prof. Pushpesh Pant and Dr. Sukrita Paul will discuss the film after the screening .The discussion will be presided over by Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA.

Hanuman: Images beyond Imaginations- An exhibition of Installation, Kaavad and Paintings.

The exhibition will showcase installation, a 3D production of thousand year old hymn ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. The installation has been screened at several festivals and has been created by Charuvi Design Lab. It will be a unique animated and digital experience of a mythological figure, Lord Hanuman. The exhibition shall also display a ‘Kaavad’ narrating a story of Hanuman Chalisa and paintings on Hanuman by Shri Shyam Sharma. Each of these paintings have a caption and a quote from Ramcharitmanas.

A video presentation on Recitation of Hanuman Chalisa by Shri Amitabh Bacchan will also be played at the exhibition.
