Exhibition, Stree: Archetypes Alterbodies , Twin Art Gallery, CV Mess, Janpath, New Delhi-110001. Open from 9.30 am to 7.00 pm on all days till 28th March.

The exhibition was inaugurated on 8th March, 2013 by Hon”ble Union Minister for Culture, Smt. Chandresh Kumari Katoch on the occasion of International Women’s Day celebrations at IGNCA. The exhibition comprises noted artist Sajitha Shankar’s paintings and drawings on archetypes and alterbodies. The section on archetypes showcases a series of works on Akka Mahadevi, the 12th century poet-saint from Karnataka and alterbodies explore diverse possibilities of body.

Seminar Bhakthi – A Discourse

A National Seminar on Bhakti was organized on the 2nd March 2013 at VVS College for Women in co-ordination with the IGNCA SRC and Karnataka Sahithya Academy.Prof. S. Settar, Director (Hon.), IGNCA SRC, inaugurated the Seminar and the Principle of the college, Smt. Mangala Priyadarshini and Mr. Lakshmeesha Tolpadi were present on this occasion. Professor Krishnamurthy Hanur, G.B. Harish, O.L. Nagabhushanaswamy, P. Chandrika, K.G. Nagarajappa presented papers on various aspects of Bhakti and explained the role of Bhakti in Religion, day to day life, and its bearings on Spirituality and Rituals. The role of Women was also highlighted.

 IGNCA SRC, in coordination with VVS College for Women, Basaveshwaranagar and Yaksha Siri (R) organized Girija Kalyana Yakshagana on 2nd March 2013. Mayuri Upadhyaya, Geetha Hegde Salkani, Niharika Bhat, Mamatha G, Jyothi Nayak, Kanchika Bhat performed. It was directed by A.P. Patak. Ravindrabhat Achive, Srinivasa Prabhu were accompanists.
