Kissa – may be called a romantic ballad or a Masnavi in Persian, is a tragic story of love, velour, betrayal, passion, adventure etc, which is an important part of Punjabi literature. The literary genre, which dates back to medieval times, has been much popular in the Punjab. IGNCA Film Circle : “The Golden Art” Director : Dr.G.S.Raina India has a great tradition of paintings.Important artistic Centres got established in Tanjavur, Nathdwara (Rajasthan) and Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh) and other parts of the country over the centuries. A distinctive feature of this painting tradition is the use of Gold leafs in the mythological and other contemporary works. The documentary explores this tradition of Indian paintings.
