Two-day seminar on Traditional and modern forms of puppetry: Issues in contemporary expressions and practices on 11th and 12th April, 2013 at IGNCA A two-day seminar and lecture demonstrations on Traditional and modern forms of puppetry: Issues in contemporary expressions and practices will be held at the Conference Room, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, CV Mess, Janpath, New Delhi-110001 on 11th and 12th of April 2013. The Visual Arts department of IGNCA The Visual Arts department of IGNCA has recently completed a documentary on the Malayalam writer of iconic stature, Shri M. T. Vasudevan Nair. Under the series “Great Masters”, the film unravels through his own words the complexities encountered in the creative process and the formative influences that shaped his creative moorings. In a gesture of honouring the great writer and in keeping with the policy of outreach of IGNCA, “M. T. Vasudevan Nair: A Momentous Life in Creativity” (documentary/English/72 minutes/2012) will be premiered in Kozhikode, in the Kairali theatre on 30 May 2013 at 10 a.m. Member Secretary, IGNCA will felicitate Shri Vasudevan Nair and Dr. M. Abdul Salam, Vice Chancellor, Calicut University will release the DVD of the documentary. The noted Kannada writer and jnanpithlaureate, Shri Chandrashekhara Kambar will speak on the occasion. Lecture on Ananda Kentish Coomaraswamy IGNCA SRC organized a lecture on Ananda Kentish Coomaraswamy on 28th March 2013 at Kuvempu Auditorium, Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Bangalore. Mr. Lakshmeesha Tolpadi spoke on Ananda Kentish Coomaraswamy’s works and vision. Prof. S. Settar, Director (Hon.) IGNCA SRC chaired. Scholars from various institutions, colleges and students attended the function.
