The film explores the great acoustic and mythological heritage of ‘nada’ and ‘tala’ through diverse uses of ‘raga’ in Gharana traditions.It investigates the orality of the Gharanas and the broad punctuations of their renderings.

About the documentary: The documentary highlights the melodious singers and messengers of universality called Bauls. Mostly, coming from the West Bengal, the Bauls propagating the idea of humanity and love come from all religions. This philosophy became part of the bhakti movement in the post-sixteenth century. Love and compassion are the catchword of these Bauls.

IGNCA has recorded 25 great masters in Hindustani Classical Music. In Phase II of the project, DVDs of a selection of the recording is being

released. The DVDs are 7th & 8th in the series. The release will be followed by concerts by disciples of both the artists.
