IGNCA VENTURES INTO NEW HORIZONS

ARTICLE –IGNCA is producing programmes for Doordarshan.  Every Tuesday and Thursday between eight and nine, the IGNCA productions are telecast on DD-Bharati, the channel that was launches on January 26.

The Programme is titles Kala Tarang.  The programme is in three parts.  The first is Vishist: In this a scholar, mainly from IGNCA, introduces a subject.  This is followed by a samvavd, which is a dialogue between two scholars on the theme or a subject related to the theme introduced in the previous section.  The last sections is a short documentary or film having a bearing or connection with both vishist and samvad.

Under the agreement signed with Doordarshan, the latter would market the programme through its set up.  The revenue generated from this programme will be shared on a 50-50 basis.  IGNCA offers the software free.  Doordarshan has also agreed to air, free of cost, promos on the IGNCA in its other channels.
