The Visual Arts department of IGNCA has recently completed a documentary on the Malayalam writer of iconic stature, Shri M. T. Vasudevan Nair. Under the series “Great Masters”, the film unravels through his own words the complexities encountered in the creative process and the formative influences that shaped his creative moorings. In a gesture of honouring the great writer and in keeping with the policy of outreach of IGNCA, “M. T. Vasudevan Nair: A Momentous Life in Creativity” (documentary/English/72 minutes/2012) will be premiered in Kozhikode, in the Kairali theatre on 30 May 2013 at 10 a.m. Member Secretary, IGNCA will felicitate Shri Vasudevan Nair and Dr. M. Abdul Salam, Vice Chancellor, Calicut University will release the DVD of the documentary. The noted Kannada writer and jnanpithlaureate, Shri Chandrashekhara Kambar will speak on the occasion.
