Panel Discussion on ‘Mahatma evam Gurudev: Swatantottar Bharat Mein Brihtar Bhumika' In collaboration with: St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. This discussion session aims to discuss the views and philosophy of Tagore in reference to Gandhiji’s view of New India. It will not be an overstatement to state that the idea or structure of modern India rests on two towering personalities of the twentieth century – Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi. Though they had many debates and disagreements, they found some common chords and there began a friendship which lasted till Tagore’s death in 1941. Speakers and Guests: 1. Smt. Special Lecture on 'Partition of India 1947' Special Lecture on Partition of India 1947 to commemorate ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ being organized by Regional Centre Ranchi in collaboration with: Press Club, Ranchi To commemorate the ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ and to remind the nation of the sufferings and sacrifices of Indians during the partition 1947, this special lecture is being organized. The objective of this lecture session is to remember how the partition of India had devastated millions of lives across the Indian subcontinent. The provinces of Punjab and Bengal have faced consequences of the catastrophic riots and claimed thousands of lives and left an indelible mark in the psyche of millions of people. Through this lecture, the students and participants would learn about the sacrifices of families and aftereffects of the partition in 1947.
