Film Screening : Konyaks and other tribes of Nagaland ‘Nagaland’ is a vibrant hill state located in the extreme North East of India. It offers rich incomparable cultural heritage of traditional people. The film mainly describes the various tribes of Nagalnd out of which ‘Konyak’ is the largest tribe and found mainly in ‘Mon’ district of state. Family Fun @ Maharaja Fatesingh Museum To commemorate International Museum Day which is celebrated the world over on 18th May every year, a family programme was conducted by RC Vadodara in collaboration with the Maharaja Fatesingh Museum. It included a guided walk-through of the museum and shared anecdotes from the lives of various rulers from the Gaekwad family, the erstwhile rulers of Baroda. Prominently, it discussed the history and evolution of the city of Baroda and the contributions of the Gaekwads, till the present day context.

Bharatnatyam Legend T. Balasaraswati Birth Centenary - 12th series Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts Celebrates Birth Centenary under Sanskirit Samwaad Shrikhla series. May 13 (6.00 pm onwards) and May 14 (11.00 am onwards) IGNCA hosted thirteenth seminar under the series on Birth Centenary T. Balasaraswati – A Bharatnatyam Legend. The two day session included a panel discussion on the artist by eminent personalities including Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Trustee, IGNCA; Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj, Eminent Dansseuse; Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subramanium, Trustee, IGNCA; Padma Bhushan Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan, Eminent Danseuse. The session was chaired by Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, President, IGNCA and moderated by Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA. The discussion was followed by Dance Homage, Padamajari to her Guru Balasaraswati by Ms. Nandini Ramani. The second day included a screening of the film, Bala by Late Shri Satyajit Ray. This was followed by a lecture demonstration by Ms. Nandini Ramani and Ms. Sushama Ranganathan. The seminar concluded with a talk on Bala-The Consummate Musician by Ms. Charumati Ramachandran.
