Conservation Division is actively involved in Preventive Conservation. The Division has organized four workshops with ICCROM on Re-Organization of storage at IGNCA, Crafts Museum and Government Museum, Alwar Museum, Rajasthan. Recently, Conservation laboratory launched “Re-Org Rajasthan” in collaboration with ICCROM. Ten curators from government museums of Rajasthan received training for implementing Re-Org methodology. Conservation Division has also developed preventive conservation strategies for housing of books and manuscripts.

In 2015, Conservation Division had organized a workshop on Risk Assessment in Collaboration with Cultural Heritage Agency, Netherlands. The division is developing expertise on risk assessment which is an aspect of preventive conservation.
