Manuscriptology and Palaeography (MP)*
Aims to equip the candidates to interpret and understand the manuscripts and inscriptions. The course focuses on reading and writing of various scripts. It will also aim to train in editing of manuscripts.

- Preservation of Manuscripts of Manuscript Libraries.
- Survey of Manuscripts in Manuscript Libraries.
- Exploration of Manuscripts in Manuscript Libraries.
- Introduction, development and importance of arrangements of manuscripts in manuscript libraries.
- Types of Cataloging Manuscripts.
- Uses of Cataloging Manuscripts.
- Methodology for the preparation of catalogs of manuscripts.

- Training and transliteration work of Granth, Sharda, Newari, Nandinagari, Maithili etc. scripts

- Editing and review of text differences of manuscripts from the point of view of prosody.

- Painted matriarchal study and review method.

- Library Conservation Science
- Types of Conservation of Manuscripts.
- Method used for the conservation of manuscripts.
- Center for the Conservation of Manuscripts.
- Types of Manuscripts Promotion, Method and System Center.
- Types of Manuscript Digitization and method and system center.

Language Science
- Characteristics, purpose and antiquity of language.
- Reasons for language change.
- Reason for character change.
- Theories of Language Origin.
- Classification of language.
- Phonetic Laws (Grima Niyama, Grassmana Niyama, Werner Niyama)
- Indo-Aryan language family.
- Contribution of other languages family in the development of Sanskrit language.
Unit-7 (120 Hours) Credit-8
- Training of Scripts
- Training and Transliteration work of Modi, Takari, Tigalari, Tibetan, Nastaliq scripts.
- General introductory training in Malayalam, Telugu, Mittai and other Indian scripts.
Unit-8 (60 Hours) Credit-4
- Experimental Research Work
- Editing a manuscript of 25 -30 letters.
- Editing of 50 entries in the Detail Register.
- Computer application of manuscript editing.
- Oral test.
