Book release function of Kalatattvakosa, Volume VII.

 

The Volume will be released by Dr. (Smt.) Kapila Vatsyayan, founder Member-Secretary, IGNCA in presence of Prof. R. N. Mishra from Lucknow and Prof. K. D. Tripathi from Varanasi.

The Kalatattvakosa series of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts endeavours to evolve an important modern device to grasp the essential thought and knowledge system of the Indian artistic and cultural tradition. The present volume Sthana-Ayatana (Substratum/ Abode) is the seventh manifestation of the series and contains seven scholarly articles. It begins its journey from the general notion of substratum ‘sthana’ and reaches up to the particular location of ‘ayatana’. It is edited by Prof. K. D. Tripathi, Dr. Sukumar Chattopadhyaya and Dr. Pranati Ghosal.

Exhibition - Africans in India: A Rediscovery

Curated by Dr. Sylviane A Diouf and Dr. Kenneth X Robbins

Africans in India: A Rediscovery: a travelling exhibition put together by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi and the Schomburg Centre for Research in Black Culture, New York, retraces the lives and achievements of some of the talented and prominent Africans of yesterday who became an integral part of the socio-cultural heritage of India. The exhibition will be inaugurated on 27 November at the campus of IGNCA-SRC by Dr. N S Channappa Gowda (IAS), {Secretary, Kannada, Culture and Information & Public Relation Dept. Govt. of Karnataka}, Shri. Kamaljit Singh, {Regional Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relation, Bengaluru}and Dr. M.S. Murthy (Eminent Artist, Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy) and Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan, {Programme Director, IGNCA, New Delhi} between 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The inaugural ceremony will be followed by Folk Dance from the Siddi Community.
