Celebration of International Yoga Day

IGNCA is marking the International Yoga Day on 21 June by hosting a whole lot of events. The day begins with a yoga session, from 7.30 to 8.30 am. The participants will perform yoga, led by Dr. Alka Tyagi, This will be followed by community health breakfast, consisting of sprouts and fruits.

An exhibition on Yoga in Indian Visual Art will be inaugurated at 4.00 pm. The exhibition presents around 150 images depicting yoga in various paintings, sculptures etc. It will be on display till 30 June, 11.00 am to 6.00 pm.

At 6.30 pm, a ballet, presenting Ashtanga will be performed by the group from The Mudra Project (a group of young performing artists). The presentation will be an hour-long, at lawns outside Mati Ghar.

Presentation of Yeh Geet Mere Banjare by Dr. Rama Singhand Dance performance on Bimb by Aangik (Jodhpur based dance company)

Yeh Geet Mere Banjare is a poem which will be presented by Dr. Rama Singh.

Bimb is the dramatization of poem with dance, it is not based on the poem but it is the sonnet come alive. Five poems of Dr. (Mrs.) Rama Singh (a well known Hindi Poetess) have been picked up for the `Bimb’ show. All the poems are interlinked with the narration and the video projection of paintings.

Shri Ram Bahadur Rai (President, IGNCA Trust) will preside over the function and Shri Shyam Jaju (National Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party) will be the chief guest on the occasion.
