Desi Hase Art – Workshop

This workshop organized by Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Southern Regional Centre, Bengaluru aimed at encouraging and preserving hase a traditional folk art form began at . The workshop commenced greeting the artists resident in villages in Sagar Taluk present here for a weeklong period. At the inauguration present were Vijay Vaman talking to the artist on hase, he discussed The question and discussion series began on a note by Vijay Vaman saying, rural and urban people understand soil in different ways. Rural, is where people are close to soil in their daily affairs. Proceeding on hase, he questioned all, can hase be taken further from manual hand painting to incorporate applications like facebook, photoshop or with the use instagram?..

Rock art exhibition

The circulating exhibition titled ‘The World of Rock Art’, concluded it journey at Bengaluru’s National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA). An exhibition titled ‘The World of Rock Art’ was organized by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA), in collaboration with NGMA and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) . This exhibition is a part of the IGNCA’s ongoing project called Adi Drishya. The inauguration of the exhibition on December 3, 2013, took place in the presnce Dr. A Sundara, Retd. Professor, Department of Ancient History & Archaeology, Karnataka University, Dharwad, Shri Pravin Srivastava, (IAS), Director General, Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi. K. G.
