IGNCA has recorded 25 great masters in Hindustani Classical Music. In Phase II of the project, DVDs of a selection of the recording is being

released. The DVDs are 7th & 8th in the series. The release will be followed by concerts by disciples of both the artists.

Release of the new edition of Natyasastra VOLUME I (A Kalamulasastra Series Publication) by Indira Gandhi National Centre For The Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi And Bharata – Ilango Foundation For Asian Culture (BIFAC), Chennai.

Dr. N. Gopalaswamy, Chairman, Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai will preside, release the book & confer the title BHARATA PUTRAHA (BIFAC Lifetime Achievement Award) on Prof. K.D. Tripathi (Volume Editor)

The RE-ORG project is being organized at Assam State Museum, Guwahati from the 29th February 2016 to 11th March 2016, in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Assam and ICCROM, Rome. Assam State Government and the workshop is part of the campaign launched to improve the state of museum storage in Assam.

Participants coming from different museums in Assam would avail the opportunity during two weeks to participate in the reorganization of Assam State Museum Storage. As with all RE-ORG projects, the main challenge is to find adequate storing solutions with a limited budget, reusing as much as possible old furnishings and installing basic new furnishings if needed.

The film explores the historical experiences and social formations of the Jewish community, who arrived in India in the 16th century and settled mainly in Kerala. The contribution of the community in trade, commerce and other fields is also highlighted in the film.

IGNCA Book Circle @ Reference Library. This month, Dr. Jagdish Kaur will read from her book Arunachal Pradesh : Rediscovering Hinduism in the Himalayas. Dr Jagdish Kaur is a medical professional and public health expert. She is working with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India for the last more than twenty five years in various capacities. She has extensive experience in health policies and programmes of the Government.
